Gosh, what was that gauze looking thing anyway?

In response to my puzzled question, the doctor clarified that the "gauze looking thing" in the colonoscopy photos really was a piece of gauze. The picture was taken AFTER the polyp was removed from the colon and turned over on a piece of donut hole gauze to demonstrate that the part of the polyp that was formerly attached to the colon matched the pattern of the polyp crater in the adjacent photo and to show that this one was not cancerous. Mystery solved!
