2 Quick Trips to BYU

A week ago last Thursday, Kim and I flew up to Utah to watch Zach and the other BYU Young Ambassadors perform "The New Music Makers" production. It felt weird to be in wintery Utah only a few short hours after being in balmy Southern California. It didn't feel like we had paid the customary physical price (associated with the long drive) and suffered enough to be in Utah so quickly. We attended performances on both Thursday and Friday night. It was FABULOUS to watch Zach dance and to hear him sing. Thanks to both friends and family members for attending to support Zach.

Then this past Friday, as a Valentines Day gift to Kim, I agreed to accompany her on a road trip back up to BYU by car to watch the BYU MDT (Music Dance Theater) department's MDT Showcase 2009. Although Zach did well, we both thought the overall Showcase was not as good as the YA show the week before.

We drove back the next day (Saturday). We awoke to snow, and as you can tell by the attached photo taken at a Nephi gas station, we had to drive part of the way in a snow storm, but at least the roads weren't crowded. After safely completing this 2-day, 20 hour drive, 1,400 mile round trip journey, we definitely felt that this time we suffered enough to make us feel glad when we arrived back home.

If it's snow you want--you can come here. There is plenty on the ground for ya.
Tell Kim hello for us. We can see she is inside the car...keeping warm (smart woman!)
See you guys soon.
