Welcome to Holland!

"If you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn’t get to go to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things…about Holland."

The link below is to a poignant essay written back in 1987 by Emily Perl Kingsley, the mother of a special needs child.

In one way or another, EVERYONE will experience significant situations, outcomes, and realities in our lives that we not only did not expect, but also did not desire.

Reinhold Niebuhr authored the popular quote: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

If we are powerless to change some things in our lives, we are wise to seek out and enjoy the beauty and special experiences available in Holland rather than sorrowing out our days that we are not in Italy.
