1st day back at work

I obtained written permission at my doctor's appointment this morning to return to work today, so I drove straight to work after the appointment and had an easier time overall than I expected. I was rather surprised when the nurse practioner said that many patients ask their doctor for 6-8 weeks off work after similar operations. I won't pass judgement on them, but such a long time off would be sandbagging for me. I thought my innards might get tired of all the sitting up, but my desk chair was adequately comfortable and I had only minor problems. I also did not get sleepy without an afternoon nap like I was afraid might happen. One down, four days to go in this work week till Parker's annual Christmas to New Years shutdown, when I'll have a little more time to recuperate.

Way to go Dad! Such determination. So glad your first day back was so much better than anticipated. And you even stayed up to put together heaters last night...a full day in for you!

I'm so glad to hear it was successful! Clayton and I called to see how your appointment went and were surprised to hear that you had been at work all day! Let us know how the rest of your week goes.
