I had my first CAT scan yesterday. Pretty amazing piece of machinery.
The scan results should help my gastroenterologist identify whether my colon cancer has spread to adjacent organs. I should know more after my doctor appointment this afternoon. Today should prove to be a pivotal day as far as acquiring information about what the future holds. I received a voice mail message from my family doctor stating that she had been notified of the results of the colonoscopy and biopsy. I'll be calling her back this morning.
AFTER the CAT scan was complete, I find out that it wasn't necessary for me to continue my liquid diet that I was on for the colonoscopy. NOW they tell me. It was nice to eat solid food again, but my innards are not responding smoothly to my on and off again eating routine.
Thank you very much for all the well wishes and prayers. I'm feeling peaceful, but anxious. Last night Kim and I reviewed my symptom history and discussed possible future outcomes and eventualities. Late yesterday afternoon I felt like I was coming down with the flu (chills, fever, achy, etc), but I am feeling mostly better this morning. I don't know whether all those x-rays would have such an effect.
